The officer told Kenneth he needed to go to church on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/reddickfamily.org\/blog\/wp-admin\/upload.php?style=inline&amp;tab=browse-all&amp;action=view&amp;ID=44&amp;post_id=-1176162313&amp;paged\" id=\"file-link-44\" title=\"passengersideimpact.jpg\" class=\"file-link image\"> \t\t\t <\/a>Kenneth had just merged onto Westbound 19th Street in Lubbock at West Loop 289 when his pickup truck was struck from behind by a speeding Chevrolet Camaro.  The impact sent Kenneth&#8217;s pickup spinning <!--more-->out of control under the Loop overpass about 9:55 p.m. Easter Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/reddickfamily.org\/blog\/wp-admin\/upload.php?style=inline&amp;tab=browse-all&amp;post_id=45&amp;_wpnonce=5474ba3780&amp;ID=46&amp;action=view&amp;paged\" id=\"file-link-46\" title=\"driversside.jpg\" class=\"file-link image\"> \t\t\t <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.reddickfamily.org\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/04\/driversside.jpg\" title=\"driversside.jpg\" alt=\"driversside.jpg\" width=\"128\" \/><\/a>The pickup grazed two overpass support pillars before wrapping around a third one. The green Camaro, though damaged, drove away from the scene. Witnesses at the scene got the license number of the Camaro and police report the 21-year-old driver was escorted by his mother into the police station Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Kenneth, smelling gasoline all around him (he had just filled his tank), managed to extricate himself from the wreck, walk a few feet away, call 9-1-1 and catch an ambulance to Covenant Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>After a few hours of poking, prodding, jabbing, x-rays, CT scans and other testing, doctors gave Kenneth the option of spending the night in the hospital or going home.
